New Book Published

My new book 30 Years of the Bookworm was just published by the Zhejiang University Press, December 2023. It is the fourth of my selected essays, previous published at blogs, journals, newspapers, etc., in the past four years. They are essays about my experiences at the National Library of China, some comments about library acquisitions and cataloging, book reviews, essays about music and records of my visits to libraries and bookstores.

New Book Released in Shanghai Book Fair

Shanghai Book Fair opened last week.
I was very glad to know that my new book was officially published during the book fair.
It's my third collection of essays, including blog posts, book reviews and other essays related to library and book trade.
This book is illustratated by Anjianda, a copper relief artist. The illustrations are the results of our interative communications and are all related library, book reading and book trade.
The book is one of the serias "Civil Reading Book Beauty" published by the Shanghai Scientific and Technological Literature Publishing House.

My blog book Bookworm speaks (书山蠹语) is published by National Library of China Publishing House in May 2013.

This book includes blog posts from my Sina.com blog during the last five years.

Catalogers are chefs

Users are always right

Yesterday, I received a book Users are always right by Dr. Cheng Huanwen. The book collects all blog posts by Dr. Cheng about the theorem "Users are always right" and related blog posts by library scholars and librarians in China. Because the book also includes one of my blog posts at Sina blog (Bookworm: http://blog.sina.com.cn/guben), Dr. Cheng sent me three copies for my own collection and for the collection of the National Library of China. I think the book is interesting, not only because of the new topics, but also because it is very new in China to publish a collection of blog posts.

My English Blog at Blogger Buzz blog

I created my account at the Blogger Buzz blog in September 2008, but I cannot access it in China. Today (January 4 of the Chinese Lunar Year), I decided to use this blog to write in English. I think everyone outside China can view this blog. However, I myself cannot view it and do not know how it looks like.
