OLCC Annual Meeting to Be Held in Hangzhou

The annual meeting of the Online Library Cataloging Center (OLCC) is to be held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, soon in late May 2009.
As a component of the Chinese Acquisitions & Cataloging Department, National Library of China, OLCC, another name of the department, was founded in 1998. The mission of OLCC is to provide bibliographic records to Chinese libraries, and provide cataloging training services.
OLCC has 1000 users, 500 members and 13 subcenters.

Chinese translations of the Statement and the Glossary completed

Today, I completed the Chinese translation of the cover page of the worldwide review of Statement of International Cataloguing Principles and its accompanying Glossary, and Mr. WANG Shaoping of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Libraries, sent me the translations of the latest version of the Statement and the Glossary. I sent all the three documents to Barbara Tillett immediately. They will be posted on IFLANET late this month for worldwide review until June 30.

As a participant and a member of the Planning Committee of IME ICC4 (Seoul, Korea, 2006), I am glad to see the final results will appear soon.

Chinese Translation of FRBR Completed

Chinese translation of FRBR (Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records) has been completed and will be posted on the IFLA site (http://www.ifla.org) very soon.
