The annual meeting of the Online Library Cataloging Center (OLCC) is to be held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, soon in late May 2009.
As a component of the Chinese Acquisitions & Cataloging Department, National Library of China, OLCC, another name of the department, was founded in 1998. The mission of OLCC is to provide bibliographic records to Chinese libraries, and provide cataloging training services.
OLCC has 1000 users, 500 members and 13 subcenters.

NLC Staff Meeting Held Today
The Annual Staff Meeting of National Library of China was held today in NLC Concert Hall. About 1000 staff members attended the meeting. Dr. Furui Zhan, Director of the library, presented a report for the year of 2008 and a plan for the year of 2009. Mr. Heping Zhou, Vice-Minister of Culture, also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the Chinese Acquisitions & Cataloging Department (I am the director of the department) received two awards respectively for the excellent services of the Online Library Cataloging Center and for the innovative services though the cooperation of Chinese bibliographic records uploaded to OCLC's WorldCat.

OLCC Annual Meeting to Be Held in Hefei

The Annual meeting of the Online Library Cataloging Center (OLCC) is to be held in Anhui Provincial Library tomorrow (July 24-25, 2008). As the director of OLCC, I will chair the meeting and speak about the latest developments of library cataloging in the world.
Today in the evening, I chaired the meeting of OLCC Subcenter Directors. Dr. CHEN Li, Deputy Director of the National Library of China, and delegates from 13 subcenters attended the meeting. We discussed the future policies and mechanisms of OLCC.
